Project Engineer

We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to work with Thyson on a full-time, permanent staff basis from our offices in Ellesmere Port.

Key Objectives:

  • Undertake design work and prepare CAD drawings, appraise quotations for materials/components, liaison with clients and third party consultants including design Approvers/Appraisers, provision of technical support to the PDT including contractors, ensure the design elements of the programme are completed on time and designs are drawn-up in accordance with the TTL, Client, IGE or applicable external specifications/standards and reviewed/approved by the Senior Project Manager. Undertake additional general duties as required.
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and delivering analytical/instrument and electrical projects, including Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Design.
  • Technical Support from an E,C & I perspective to all Project Teams re: Procurement, Installation, Commissioning.
  • Supervision of dedicated CAD resource
  • Attends meetings as required and provides progress reports.
  • Client Liaison.
  • Manage and report the delivery of project drawings and associated records.
  • Responsible for their own health and safety and that of others and undertake the obligations as defined within the TTL H&S Manual.
  • Assist in the implementation of the TTL Quality Assurance, Environmental Management System, abide and promote its Policies and Procedures.
  • Academic Qualifications:

  • C & G in an Electrical Installations or similar discipline.
  • Full, Clean driving license.
  • Good IT Skills such as Microsoft Project, Word, Excel.
  • Basic skills and knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Good project management skills
  • Good communication skills, written and oral
  • Experience in managing commercial and industrial contracts.
  • Manage business relationships with suppliers, consultancies and competitors.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work within the office or based on sites as required.

  • Working knowledge of HSE Legislation and requirements.
